What is i'rab?
I'rab (إعراب) is the traditional Arabic system of marking grammatical case and function. It identifies whether a noun is the subject (مرفوع/marfu'), object (منصوب/mansub), or genitive (مجرور/majrur), and explains each word's role in the sentence. Mastering i'rab is the difference between decoding Arabic and truly reading it.
How does the AI parser work?
Irab uses a Gemini-backed grammar pipeline through a secure Cloudflare Worker. Each parse identifies each word's grammatical type, i'rab, function/case details, vocalized sentence, correction notes when needed, and sentence level explanation. The same analysis stack powers both the in app analyzer and the live demo on this page.
Can it handle Quranic Arabic?
Yes, you can paste Quranic text and receive word by word i'rab analysis. It is a study helper, not a substitute for a qualified teacher or specialist Quran reference, especially for ambiguous readings.
Do I need internet to use the app?
The Dialect Dictionary works fully offline (30,000+ entries in a local database). Previously loaded library books and cached smart-dictionary entries can be reused locally. The AI parser, new Smart Dictionary lookups, OCR, custom grading, and Traditional Dictionary require an internet connection.
How many dictionaries does Irab include?
